Camara Obscura

I have no picture because it is in the glass case outside of the classroom.
  • A camara obscura is a dark chamber or a box with a hole on one side and has light sensitive paper.
  • The camara obscura rotates the image 180 degrees (upside down). The image can be projected and then traced.
  • You can make your own camara obscura by getting two paper cups, painting the inside of both with black paint, placing light sensitive paper inbetween the two cups and then taping them together. Also putting a hole on either side of the cups allowing you to be able to look out one side to view the image on the other side.
  • I decorated mine with blue, gold and translucent white paint because it reminded me of the "Starry Night" painting.
  • I think the camara obscura is a very cool invention. And a great way to be able to draw images that would normally be very difficult.
